The Young Women’s Leadership Project celebrates two years worth of work
The Young Women’s Leadership Project at the African Gender Institute (UCT) on Monday 19 March 2012 had an evening of celebrating two years worth of hard work of students and lecturers/researchers who were part of the project since it started in April of 2010. Dubbed 'the Performing Pleasure’ evening, this event was dedicated to talking about experiences related to implementing the project and digital story screening. 'The Performing Pleasure’ evening took place at the Centre for African Studies Gallery (UCT) from 19:00hrs to 21:00hrs.
The Young Women’s Leadership project was part of a broader Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights project which focused on institutions of higher education in the SADC region and aimed at strengthening research and action which involves the lives and empowerment of young women. This project was funded by the Ford Foundation. See event flyer.
